Am i taking the right classes for my career path (video game designer)?

I want to be a game designer, but I'm not sure I'm taking the right classes. As of now i high school im taking graphics design. we learn to use photo shop, flash, and illistrautor. I plan to take four years of this and of course im taking and passing my core classes. I don't really know what else to take. Is graphics design going to help me in my carrear path?
