Cartoon Question......?

Ok, well I remember the old show Ed, Edd, and Eddy. Well, I never really get to see the character's parents. I mean are they like always at work, did they leave their children to live by themselves? I just don't get it, haha! It still is a good show, one of the shows I watched long time ago..
