What do you use to paralyze your personal ego?

I get the feeling many just assume a passive posture and let it have its way while laying their responsibility on the shoulders of our belated brother Jesus. Do you see a benefit in conjuring from that ego rancor and fighting fire (animal) with fire? "Behold the Hosts of Souls.
