Female sever pains (please help)?

My daughter has been experiencing sever lower abdominal / pelvic pains for about 5 years now. The pains started when she was 15. It's a sharp vicious pain that comes on and lasts for 10+ minutes. She has to remain motionless in a certain position or the pain becomes unbearable. It's not sexual as she wasn't sexually active when it began. If anyone knows anything please help!
