Is It Normal For A Rat Terrier Dog To Bite Your Face ?

I had my rat terrier dog bite me on my face in April , Left a big scar and some small ones. About A year ago he had big me on my face It was on my chin it had went so deep through my lip bit didn't leave a scar. I hadn't gone to school for a week. A few years back he had bit my near my eye and in my cheek. And all those times i have never gone to the E.R or got stitches. I did absloteley NOTHING to make him ticked off. And now we still have him , What can we do with eddy ?
