My 4 yr old son has high IGE levels in blood, could the body be reacting to cancer?

My son is getting ready to turn 5, and has been blood tested for allergies 3 times, and always come back negative. A skin test will be performed next month. Parasitic tests on his stool has also come back negative. He is currently in the hospital for the second time with sever sinus and respiratory infection, and they found his IGE level to be 2900! Is it possible that his body is trying to fight off cancer? Is there a connection between IGE levels and cancer?
