Modern Warfare 2 1 bar connection problem?

I'm living in AUS right now, my MW2 ping is only at 1 bar, when i first bought the game, it was on high, and took 20 seconds to find a sever, now i need 30 minutes to find one, my NAT is open. i'm using a wireless network, 4 meters away from the router. please help!!
